Ron Froehlich as President re-elected

Elections to the Executive Committee of the

International World Games Association

DUBAI (27/04/2010). Ron Froehlich (71) remains President for another four years. He will head the International World Games Association (IWGA) until 2014. 28 of its 32 member federations were present at the Annual General Meeting in Dubai and unanimously re-elected the American for another four-year-tenure.

Ron Froehlich has been in office since 1992. At the meeting in Dubai this Monday Lukas Hinder of the International Dance Sport Federation was also unanimously re-elected as Treasurer of the IWGA. Further Executive Committee members will be: Max Bishop (Senior Vice President), Tom Dielen (Vice President), Dr. Rinaldo Orlandi.

José Perurena, President of the International Canoe Federation, was voted in as a new Executive Committee member.

Secretary General Co Koren and Vice President Sue Harvey left the Executive Committee at their own request. The members also amended the statutes and decided to change the position of the General Secretary to an appointed CEO as a non-voting Executive Committee member. The position will be was appointed to Achim Gossow, by now Sportsdirector of the IWGA, to this position and will take up the post on 1 July 2010.
